CRP welcomes Dr. Christina Sinding as Acting Director for 2022-2023
The Community Research Platform (CRP) is excited to welcome Dr. Christina Sinding as Acting Director effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. Dr. James Gillett will resume the role of CRP Director upon his return from administrative leave.
Dr. Sinding is jointly appointed to the School of Social Work and the Department of Health, Aging and Society. Sinding brings to the CRP a strong background in and passion for Community Engaged Research and Evaluation, Participatory Action Research, Research and Social Policy, and Arts-based research and knowledge mobilization.
Sinding has worked with numerous community partners locally and regionally including the Good Shepherd Centres, the Social Planning and Research Council of Hamilton, the Hamilton Community Foundation and Six Nations of the Grand River Social Services Department. She recently completed Transforming Stories, Driving Change, a project that used performance to explore, and then show, how social exclusion affects particular communities in Hamilton and how these communities are responding. As the former Director of the School of Social Work, Sinding supported the community-engaged research of her faculty colleagues and undergraduate and graduate students.
Sinding is excited to lend her expertise to the ongoing advancement of Community Engaged Research in the Faculty and to fostering equitable, sustainable and impactful research partnerships with local community organizations.
