CMHA Hamilton’s Art & Inquiry Soirée To Highlight McMaster Student Art & Research

McMaster’s Community Research Platform (CRP) and Centre for Advanced Research on Mental Health and Society are partnering with Canadian Mental Health Association, Hamilton (CMHA) to present the 2026 Art & Inquiry Soirée. The event will celebrate CMHA Hamilton’s 60th anniversary, marking six decades of community impact, valued partnerships, and service. The Soirée will showcase an experiential exploration of mental health through the juxtaposition of community-based art and mental health research.
Members of the McMaster community are invited to submit applications to have their mental health–related art or research featured at the event. Art submissions may be in any medium, and research will be presented in poster format. We welcome research grounded in a broad range of disciplines, as well as interdisciplinary and community-engaged projects. Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies are eligible. At least one member of each selected research team must attend the event in person, while attendance by artists is optional but encouraged.
The Art & Inquiry Soirée will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at CMHA Hamilton (131 John St. S., Hamilton, Ontario). The evening will feature music, hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, and keynote speakers. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with artists and researchers while celebrating CMHA’s longstanding commitment to mental health in the community.
The CRP will cover the cost of poster printing for accepted research submissions. For more information or to apply to display art or present a poster, please contact Esther Rowan at rowane1@mcmaster.ca.
