Community Engaged Research (CER) Graduate Student Internships  

The CER Graduate Student Internship Program provides opportunities for MA and PhD students to work with CRP partner organizations on research projects that support their organizational needs and priorities and have tangible benefits for communities.

CER Grad Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Increase their knowledge, skills, and expertise in Community-Engaged Research.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the non-profit sector and its role in civil society.
  • Expand their professional networks.
  • Contribute to the advancement of social impact research and knowledge mobilization.

Internships will take place over 1 or 2 academic terms. The value of the internship award varies by position (minimum $6,000).

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be registered as a student in the Faculty of Social Sciences (in exceptional circumstances, students in other Faculties may be eligible).
  • Be in good academic standing, and good financial standing, with the university.
  • Meet additional qualifications for each internship which are outlined in a job description specific to the organization and its research objectives.

  • Community-engaged research opportunities through undergraduate and graduate courses
